In my research into the "I-Medicine" sutra, it say clearly that why those people in the Argrarian era are more healthy & live longer..

It is because the Air & Water is less pollutions then today. & also the Illness is due to our food intake!!

Be more aware of cancer risks
Feb 28 2005 By The Evening Chronicle

People in the North East are less aware about cancer risks than anyone else in Britain.

A study by Cancer Research UK showed people in our region were failing to make important lifestyle changes, leaving themselves at higher risk.

33% didn't think obesity could increase the risk of cancer.

85% didn't realise having many sexual partners was a risk factor.

75% didn't know about the importance of a diet high in fruit and vegetables.

71% weren't aware high alcohol intake could increase your chance of the disease.

As well as being at the top of the cancer risk ignorance tables, the North East is also at the top of the cancer death tables.

A report published last month by the Association of Public Health Observatories revealed the North East has the greatest number of years of life lost to all cancers as well as the highest incidence of lung cancer.

Cancer Research UK, who fund a number of drug trials at Newcastle University to help patients fight cancer, are running a campaign to help people reduce their risk.

Prof Herbie Newell, co-director of the Northern Institute for Cancer Research at Newcastle University, is giving his support to the cause. "The aim is to alert everyone to the fact that each one of us can reduce our risk of getting cancer," he said.

"We estimate that half of cancer cases could be prevented.

"There is no magic pill but there are many things we can all do in our daily lives to improve our chances of avoiding it."

Cancer Research UK chief executive Professor Alex Markham added: "We are already making headway on tobacco but our survey has shown there is a great deal more to do.

"It is important for people to realise that being a healthy weight and eating a properly balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables can really make a difference."

Stop Smoking

Smoking causes nearly all cases of lung cancer and is a major risk factor for at least 11 other types, including mouth, throat, food pipe (oesophagus), stomach, kidney, bladder and pancreatic cancer.

Stay In Shape

Diet influences our risk of stomach and bowel cancer and is likely to be important for cancer of the lung and food pipe. It may also affect our risk of breast, prostate, bladder, mouth and throat cancers.

Be SunN Smart

Over-exposure to the sun causes skin cancer and the number of cases is increasing. A history of sunburn can double the risk.

Cut Down Alcohol

Drinking too much alcohol over time increases your risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, voicebox, (larynx), food pipe and liver. Alcohol and smoking combined greatly increases the risk. Excess alcohol increases the risk of breast cancer.
